The health check service will be conducted in three parts.
On the day of Nurse's Consultation, the following will be performed:
Basic health measurements;
Blood tests. Please keep fasted (no food or drink except clear water) for at least 8 hours before blood taking;
Urinalysis (Urine sample);
Special examinations: Chest X-ray, resting ECG, breast ultrasound scan, mammography or bone mineral density measurement (DEXA scan) will be performed at designated diagnostic centre, and can be arranged to happen on the same day of Nurse's consultation.
On the day of Doctor's Consultation, the following will be performed:
Health assessment by doctor;
Examination of the woman including ultrasound scan of the pelvis;
Explanation of all test reports;
Doctor's advice.
* The mammography is a 2D examination, and can be upgraded to 3D with an additional charge.
Please allow adequate time for the consultations and examinations:
The Nurse's Consultation may take around 1 hour, including blood taking.
The Doctor's Consultation may take 1-2 hours.
Special examinations may take 1-2 hours, depending on the type of examinations.
You can take your prescription medications with clear water as usual.
Cervical smear (Pap smear) test and Urinalysis should not be performed if you are menstruating.
If you are pregnant or may be pregnant, please let our staff know. Some tests are NOT suitable for pregnant women, such as X-ray examinations.
Avoid strenuous exercise.
You can take your prescription medications with clear water as usual.
There are two kinds of urine sample collection, depending on the nature of the intended test:
First catch urine sample for Chlamydia Trachomatis test:
You can collect the urine sample at any time of the day as long as it is more than 20 minutes since last urination.
Do not clean or wipe your genitals before passing urine.
Collect ~20ml of the first part of the urine stream (the first catch) directly into the specimen bottle, or when the bottle is around 1/3 full.
Midstream urine sample for Urinalysis:
Urinalysis should not be performed if you are menstruating.
A midstream urine sample means you do not collect the first or the last part of urine that comes out.
Collect ~20ml of urine directly into the specimen bottle, or when the bottle is around 1/3 full.
If your blood tests include glucose test, you should keep fasted for 8 hours except clear water before the blood taking. No fasting is needed for all other tests including lipid profile.
You can take your prescription medications with clear water as usual.
If you had dizziness or faintness after a blood test in the past, please let our staff know.
The cervical smear (Pap smear) test should not be performed if you are menstruating.
Please empty your bladder before the examination.
If you have had sexual experience, a transvaginal ultrasound scan will be performed. Please empty your bladder before the examination.
If you never have any sexual experience, a transabdominal ultrasound scan will be performed. You need to have a full bladder for the examination. Please drink at least 4 glasses of water before the examination.
If you are pregnant or may be pregnant, you should NOT undergo any X-ray examinations. You have to practice contraception before the X-ray examination, or we can arrange the examination to be performed during the first 10 days of the menstrual period.
Please do not use any skin care products, cosmetics or antiperspirant before mammogram examination.
Special precaution has to be taken during mammogram examination for women who have had breast augmentation. Please let our staff know if you have had breast augmentation.
